  • To teach pupils how to flourish in a connected world, developing their sensitivity to others online, treating them with respect, and showing respect for their privacy.
  • To teach pupils how to keep safe online, and where to go for help and support.
  • To nurture pupils' confidence, enthusiasm and collaboration skills, as they work together and support one another in their learning.

Computing at St George's

Computing is taught through the Dimensions curriculum and through stand-alone weekly computing skills sessions. We aim to prepare our learners for their future by giving them the opportunities to gain knowledge and develop skills that will equip them for an ever changing digital world. We understand that knowledge and understanding of ICT is of increasing importance for children's future. Our Computing curriculum focuses on a progression of skills in digital literacy, computer science, information technology and online safety to ensure that children understand how to use technology positively, responsibly and safely. These strands are revisited repeatedly through a range of themes through the Dimensions curriculum to ensure the learning is embedded and skills are successfully developed. Our intention is that Computing also supports children's creativity and cross curricular learning to engage children and enrich their experiences in school
