Class 2

Half Term Update

Wow what a busy and fantastic first half term we have had. All of the children have settled in brilliantly into class 2 and have been an absolute pleasure to teach.

They should all be very proud of the progress they are making in their work across the curriculum. Everyone is definitely listening to their Yeti's.

What we have been learning this half term

This half term we have learnt some more about our Yeti and our Growth Mindset. We have learnt that finding things challenging is a good thing as challenges help us to learn. We have spent lots of time finding out what to do when we get stuck and I am impressed with how quickly the children have learnt to use lots of different resources to help them work more independently.  We have also written some excellent Growth Mindset poems

In our topic we started to learn all about our senses and our bodies. We had a really fun lesson playing body parts bingo where we got to be a human Bingo Board. It was loads of fun! We also had a very exciting lesson using 'Feeley bags' and blindfolds. We had to guess what was inside the bag only using our touch sense. It was super exciting and we all loved seeing if we were right!

We are really looking forward to another fun filled half term. We will be learning more about our senses in science, writing instructions in Talk for writing and of course learning and performing our Christmas Nativity too.

Welcome to Class 2!

Welcome back!

We hope you have all had a fantastic summer holiday and are eager to get back to school ready to learn!

We are looking forward to an exciting year this year and are already planning lots of fun lessons and exciting activities. Our topic this term is All About Me and we can't wait to find out lots more about you!

As part of our computing curriculum, children are taught to use our school blog.  They have the opportunity to have their work published on line and blogging provides a worldwide audience for pupil’s work.  It is a fantastic opportunity for the children to get excited about writing.

There is a space after each post to leave a comment.  You will need to provide your own email address in order to do this (email address is not published).  The children would love to have some positive feedback from a real audience.
